The Brick Store Museum, Kennebunk

Counting House Museum, a brick cotton factory building dating back to the 1830s located by the Salmon Falls River and owned by the Old Berwick Historical Society, Main St. (Rte. 4) and Liberty St., South Berwick. Ever After Mustang Rescue, a nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and placing unwanted, neglected and abused mustangs brought to New England through the adopt-a-horse program. Volunteer training is held every Saturday morning between 9 AM and noon; for anyone 14 years and older. Join us if you have 3 or more hours a week and would like to help care for these horses. The Franciscan Monastery invites visitors to enjoy their gardens.

Franciscan Monastery features well-tended gardens, trails and park along the Kennebunk River designed by Frederick Law Olmstead, Beach Ave., Kennebunk Beach. Open between sunrise and sunset. Free admission.

“Horse Therapy” by Blixx, an ongoing 4-hour program by appointment focuses on behavior, care and communication. Basic skills include learning how to approach and work with different horses according to their personalities. Lawn mower racing in Shapleigh offers fun for the whole family.

Lawn Mower Racing, gates open at 12:30 PM with first heat at 1, Oakhill’s Redneck Raceway, Rte. 11, Shapleigh. Stunt competition, 50/50 raffle, refreshments and an alpaca gift shop.
